As couples arrive, there is the usual snack food and socializing. After a while, couples begin to wander off to one of the several bedrooms to pursue whatever sexual adventures await them that night.
It is August, 2005, in a large suburban house outside of Portland, Oregon, a small city near the west coast of the US. About 40 people have come together for a sex party organized by my good friend Darklady, the latest in a series of events that have made her a central figure in Portland’s community of sexual adventurers. The special feature of this particular party is me – more specifically, my project of fine art photography focusing on everyday couples engaged in sexual activity.
